For 22 years, Shear Excellence Salon had been tucked into the 15th and 15th neighborhood. We loved our neighbors and the great community of small businesses there, but we were bursting at the seams, so what to do? In 2009 we bought a small house with commercial zoning on 11th East. What fun we had designing and building a new salon from the ground up just exactly the way we wanted it. So much light and space.
With the best architect on board, Liz Blackner, everything fell into place. Liz had a wonderful vision for our salon and created a beautiful space. I can't thank her enough. Our builder, Kevin Meyer, also understood our design and added his unique touches to the project, finishing our building in just five months. We learned after the fact, that our salon was the first in Salt Lake City to be built from scratch. Pretty cool!
We love our new neighborhood and it gets better all the time. 11th East is an up and coming walkable neighborhood with Liberty Heights Fresh Market, Kyoto, Whispers Cafe, Blazing Needles, and a new restaurant and boutique shopping center coming soon. We are near Sugarhouse and not far from the 9th and 9th district. We love our new space, come and see it anytime.
